Opening and Closing bank accounts

Okay I just wanted to get some opinions form people on this.... do banks find it suspicious that a customer is opening and closing bank accounts for ebay since staying unlimited from paypal is nearly impossible?? Will they stop you from opening banks accounts or no.....

GreenBean 10-14-2009 06:09 PM

YES. You have to be careful about which banks & types of accounts you use.

bluemoon999 10-14-2009 06:28 PM

Negative information stays on your ChexSystems report for five years. Banks will typically take a look at a report before deciding whether they want you as a customer. If you're opening closing, jumping from bank to bank too often, it could influence a bank's decision to take on your business.

Right.. that's why I stick to ING Direct still... you can open dozens of savings accounts with them all under the same account and use those accounts for PayPal.

The money coming in HAS to be in your name though, so no making up funny names for an account, but it has worked out for me.

The money coming in HAS to be in your name... So what can we do? :help:

Use a nickname that is a variation of your name. Eg, John Robert Smith could be Jon Smithe... any doubts pm me;)

Actually no, like GB said above.. use a nickname or a variation of your name and it works out. That's what I do.

Bob Dylan becomes Robbert Dylan

Remember PayPal and eBay do not use your name to link an account.

theone83 10-21-2009 08:41 PM

how many accts could you open using ing....average?

doughboykilla 10-21-2009 10:05 PM

Yeah opening and closeing banks will effect chexsystems it happen to me and i open and closed so many they would'nt let me open another.

Ing i had like 10-15 accounts at one time but ing is picky now your name on ing must be the same on paypal or what ever ACH depositer u use it must have matching names.

Are you saying you can create a nickname for your real bank account that allows paypal withdrawals? I wanted to know if its possible to withdraw money from a paypal account to a (virtual or non-virtual)bank account using same ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name on both? I looked through the forums and found paypal deposit banks but not withdrawals. Would greendot or Bank of America allow it? Any help is appreciated.

You must open bank accounts in your real name. No nicknames, must be real. When you withdraw money from paypal to your bank account, some banks only like it if you have your exact name or a variation of your name. Say your name is Timothy Rockobot, You could withdraw money from a paypal account under "Tim Rockobot" and your bank would allow that.

Alright I just opened an ing savings so I'm gonna start setting up my paypal accts with those... The thing is I have a very unique first and last name.... I'm thinking about changing vowels on my name and maybe leaving a letter or two off. What do you guys think? Would it pass with ing?

They seem to contradict each other. So does ing direct work or not work for withdrawing from paypal account with a variation of name? Sorry, I just don't want to be in chexsystems

Too bad for more unique names huh? ;)

theone83 10-24-2009 12:12 AM

why im i seeing in other threads that ing is not being accepted by paypal... they consider paypal deposits as fraud if the accts are only being used for paypal only?

Im getting mixed answers
