I called paypal! Info info!
 

Im not sure wat ebay usa does, but I do know the privacy laws of australia.
I Called paypal acting as a perspective new member. I said i was considering selling on ebay however was worried as paypal wasnt a bank and was worried if some one hacked my ebay account theyd get my info on paypal (total crock of sh!t of course) i spoke in great length and what i was told was this:
Paypal and ebay DO SHARE INFORMATION IF AND ONLY IF YOU USE IT TO PAY FOR ITEMS VIA CHECKOUT AND IF YOU LINK YOUR EBAY ACCOUNT TO PAYPAL TO PAY EBAY FEES.
however, if you use paypal for the sole use of recieveing payments and thats all, ebay can only see the email address the payments get sent to, not ur account details. he said that the email on paypal must match ur ebay address or it will get red flagged.
The account will be limited if u withdraw over 700 a month, or if you dont add a bank account.
The more verification you have with them, the safer you are. If u start receiving alot of money very fast they might also ask to check your info and limit the account, however that info is also not shared with ebay, as it IS ILLEGAL to share that info.

idunoo.. I wouldnt trust customer service people with info like that. I remember when I first started using paypal 2 years ago I was worried about a $2K deal I made so I kept calling paypal to ask them questions lol. Everytime I called they all gave me different answers.

well im using paypal in my listings now. I know the laws for privacy and if you read their user agreement and privacy policy they dont giveout your info. I dont hide from paypal, and seeing as my ebay account is registered with my middle name and last name and correct address AND my paypal is registered with myfirst in inital middle name and address same as ebay, i know ill get limited for getting alot of money in, but my identity will be prooved, which i have done in the past before i ever got suspended,and nothing ever happened, i got my money within days.
as long as ur not linking ur paypal and ebay accounts together to pay fees u can get around it, at least in australia u can. we dont have to put in our SSN like u guys do. just name address confirm as bank account and credit card and your off! then u make money, they almost always limit you, u send info,they reinstate and everythings fine.

There's a lot of conflicting information out there, and I know it's a lot easier for Paypal and eBay to link now, but the specifics on how this happens is what people don't know... and this is how people are messing up... but I'll get the final word on things soon enough.
