Yea, it must be that all depends on what kind of vero items you are selling and seller being ahaid of Ebay one step at all times. Certain vero categories is simply impossible to sell ⊗⊗⊗⊗ without being cought. Heck, in those certain categories its hard to even sell authentic. I think that even Chinese can get away wih stuff is some categories and not others...

If it's harder to sell non authentic items than it is to sell authentic then that means you're doing something wrong. You're either not getting high enough quality products or not listing it as if it were %100 authentic or both. You'd be surprised at how many powersellers are selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ with the words "%100 authentic or your money back".

I believe you meant " if it's harder to sell authentic than ⊗⊗⊗⊗", right? I am doing things correctly, trust me, but I still had authentic items pulled. Hasn't happened in while I must say, but I haven't been listing that much either. No, its just that few brands don't like to see even their second hand items being sold on Ebay. If they could, they would block it all together. Also, I am aware and can recognize those "100% authentic or your money back" , but with certainty only in the category I am selling in. I am not an expert in everything....

Whoops I got it backwards didn't I, thanks for catching that.

I see what your saying, that's just part of the game though, to keep searching out differant products until you find one that works.

For example, most people here are familar with Tiffany's Jewelry, the lawsuit came about because they found that %70 of their jewelry being sold on ebay is ⊗⊗⊗⊗.

So I wouldn't even think of selling Tiffanys, just seems too high risk.

I look for other brands, labels etc. that aren't flaming in heat.

Just a quick google search will tell you what a company is doing about their ⊗⊗⊗⊗.

Well, eBay means different things to different people, obviously. For example, I could never be selling electronics, tvs, iphones etc. - all can be vero with high profit margin.-simply because I don't understand it well enough and could not answer related technical questions... I don't make a living off of Ebay, but see it rather as a hobby, something I like to do on a side and enjoy the product I am selling myself.
I am not into ⊗⊗⊗⊗ just to make money, so this approach really does not interest me..
What bothers me is that stupid rules imposed by ebay and paypal are making things more frustrating than enjoyable. Now days it is a challenge to list almost anything and not get suspended...

Enjoyment comes from being able to "play their game", stay afloat, and beat them in their own game at times.....How sad is that?

If you're just doing it as a hobby then why not try out some of the other sites? There's at least about a dozen other auction sites Bonanzle, ebid, ubid etc. just not enough traffic for me.

True, well I do this for a living and Im loving it (social life fell down the drain thought). It's great to bend the rules a lot! Thanks to aspkin I feel like every ebay and PayPal account I open is me modding something. But eBay rules are imposed to keep them in control, their buisness safe, and bring $ to the companies.

Messing with eBay and PayPal for a hobby is the best thing to do. The other sites you said sucks(for now) why bother with them?

jbluntz 11-22-2009 04:05 AM

Because their good alternatives for people that don't care about making money and just doing it as a hobby, not for me though i was refering to Lyda.

Lyda 11-22-2009 06:55 AM

Well, I do care about making money..lol. Bonanzle is not bad, had some success over there, but nothing beats eBay' traffic.
