Clicking confirm receipt - buyer protection

I am buying a service from a seller. The payment I got from him was on hold. Previously ( like one year ago) I had an option to click release funds and the money will be released immediately to the seller. before I could still open a case in the resolution center and get refund if something is wrong with the order.

Currently, "confirm receipt" button appears only 48 hours after payment.

So my question is, will I still be eligible to open case/claim in paypal after clicking the confirm receipt?

You may wonder why would I click it in the first place. Answer is very simple, 48 hours is not enough time to entirely check the service. Or the service sometimes discontinue after some time. So When I click confirm I am just saying I got the promised service but I am not saying that everything is perfect.

Anyone had tried that?

The purpose of that button is to confirm that you got the goods or service so that paypal can release the money to the seller. Don't click it if you received the goods or service. You have an option to wait 14 or 21 day if money is on hold on the sellers side. Even then if money is released you can state that you received goods or not.

I mean you are receiving the service right and you're happy with it?
I don't see why you shouldn't pay the seller unless he's a shady seller.

If someone sells an access code for something, it worked first 2. but 3 days later code is no longer working. this is an example of what could happen
