Update your debit or credit card information for PayPal

Hi everyone,

My debit card added to Paypal is expiring next month and since I'm out of country (at least for a year) I can't obtain a new one from my bank.

I wanted to ask:

1. What would happen if I don't add a new card after my current expired? Would it be a reason for PP to ask questions/limit account eventually?

2. Can I add any card (like VCC that I can find) or it should only be a card associated with my bank account linked to PP?

1. If you dont add card, not much will happen. You can't shop anymore with your card, and at places where paypal takes the card first to "pre-approve" payments before using the balance, you won't be able to pay. It will make sense to add a new card.

2. Yes you can add any VCC that could work with Paypal. It does not have to be associated wit your current bank account. Same situation in real life, you can have credit card, debit card, all from different services. There is nothing wrong with that.

Look for a VCC seller in the 'Account Services' section.
Confirm with the VCC seller that the card you get is appropriate for paypal. Shouldnt be a problem finding one that works.
I myself have had several accts with cards that expired. Never placed a new card on there and never had an issue.

Good... a good VCC nowadays is not too easy to get.

You dont needs to update, I had many accounts where vcc expired many years ago never updated and nothing happened
