Can PayPal still deduct money from deleted account?
 

Hello all so today I was wondering. Can PayPal still take money out of your bank account/card you have on file if you have a negative balance and then permanently delete your PayPal account. I don't think they could since they don't have the bank information saved anymore, unless it's saved somewhere in their database..? And if they can't access your account/card how would they go about taking receiving the funds for the negative balance on that account. I feel like they wouldn't just say less "oh well we he deleted his account we can't get out funds back anymore." How would they do it??

How will the billing collection agency company collect it if it's a stealth account? Will they try and go after the name on the account and the ID that was registered to the account? Do they go after whose ever name was on the card/bank account? How do they exactly figure out to send it to?

It depends on the country. More precisely from the laws of the country.

Paypal never remove any account,you may close the account but they still have it ,also the bank account linked to that account.
as for your negative balance,it will stay in your account,like the others said,they will turn it over to collection agency.

If you are talking about US paypal account paypal do this step with negative balance now:

So if you using your real details to create paypal account then... don't advice you to play with negative balance.

They still have the bank info in their system.

Why are you deleting your account and why is it innegative?

you can close your account,not delete the account,only Paypal can delete any account

For stealth PayPal/eBay yes I am, for bank account no.

I assumed they kept bank info in system, but when/if they send it to a collection agency can the collection agency see the bank information that PayPal has on file to connect you to the stealth and then send whoever owns the bank account the amount that's owed? And since they won't be able to contact the stealths account owner since it's made up what do they end up doing? And I personally don't have any accounts in negative it was just hypothetical. I don't use some of my stealths any more since they didn't get verified for MP so I was thinking of just unlinking the bank account/cards and then closing the acccount. And I wasn't sure what they would do if a buyer opens up a dispute for whatever reason, while my account is closed.

That's the thing I'm asking. When your using a stealth account and obtain a negative balance. How would the collection agency go about locating and collecting the amount owed if the PayPal account owner isn't a real person. Would they try and go after whoever's name was on the bank account that was linked or what?

Your real bank account information you used to withdraw funds since you can't make a stealth bank account.

So if it's a stealth account and they won't be able to contact the actual person on the account since it's made what do they do? Would they just give up? Or try and find the bank details that were on PayPal and try and collect the amount owed from the name on that account?

Depends on the amount likely - if very high...then more steps can be taken...

Wow, so does it bother you that I spent soooooo much of MY time on a HYPOTHETICAL question? You probably spent more time reading my post and typing/responding than I did asking my HYPOTHETICAL question. And yet nothing you typed contributed to the post at all. :doh: :nono:

pay the debt or file an appeal if a buyer scammed you , dont misuse their system omg.
