Banned info - PayPal got verified
 

I recently opened a PayPal account using a bank info that was banned almost a decade ago (I had a new bank details in hand but mixed up the cards :redface:).

Is this even possible to open a new PayPal using a banned bank info?
I added the details in my PayPal almost three weeks ago, immediately realised the blunder I made, deleted the card and bank both and left the account. Logged on today (out of curiosity) and re-added the banner bank info and the account was all set. Checked my emails to see that they had already lifted the limits (?) three weeks ago (probably the day when I added the restricted bank information).

My question is should I try using it by receiving a G&S payment etc to see if it’s all good and working (are my sins forgiven :suspicious:)? Just a bit confused here?

Actually no - they will not allow to add banned bank details. Possible that your old account was liquidated already.

Even the address I’ve registered this PayPal account with is the one that was attached to an account that got restricted back in 2013 / 2014.

So does PayPal remove old (restricted / banned) accounts and the details attached to those accounts off their system after some time?

They do not.
Try using that paypal account and see what happens.
Theres a good possibility that any activity that sees the act receive funds (for any reason) will result in a limitation.

Listen to slokor on this - the security issue is likely just sitting there waiting for action to trip it

well, always ask yourself this: "Am I willing to take that small chance on my business" ?
