Limitation request
 

PP is limited and they are asking for the login details to my website (username and password) this seems a little strange and something I’m not to comfortable with giving out. Password is similar to other passwords I use. Does anyone have any history with this?

Never heard of paypal asking for such info.
Sounds highly suspicious. I would NEVER give anyone such info.

Thanks for the reply Slokor. That’s exactly my thoughts. But it’s definitely a request in the resolution centre.

It’s says Provide website URL and user name and password to login.

I find it amazing they want such information

It won’t let you complete the form unless you provide username and password. Going to call them and tell them I’m not comfortable giving my passwords out

I’d post a screenshot if I knew how. It’s definitely not a wind up. It’s there clear as day in the res centre as a step that needs completing

How do I post a screenshot? It’s legit, asked for username and password. And I’ve spoken to them tofay saying I’m not comfortable handing over passwords. They say it’s up to the back office now

what the hell?? What business do they have asking for your personal login like that?

What is your website about? They can't see it without logging in?

It’s just a normal website, but apparently they want login details to prove i own the URL. It’s crazy

Use a website like imgur to upload the screenshot. You can then share the link here. Make sure to block sensitive information like reference numbers.

It can’t be a scammer, it’s in the resolution centre, I’ll post a link to the screenshot later. Only problem is that I completed the step (just put stars for username and password) so now it’s being reviewed I can’t go back to see that step.

That step clearly said

Please provide website URL
Please divide LOGIN to that website
Please provide PASSWORD to login

This is to prove you own the website URL

Just an update, spoke to PP and they said they don’t require my login details, they say they meant that if the website required a login to access it, they would need them to check the website
