Is it OK to keep changing email linked to PP
 

So recently I am getting court orders to limit my PP account due to possible IP infringement.

The IP owners report my paypal account becuase the email linked to my PP appears during checkout. So they basically get my email and then get court order and then contact paypal to close the account.

==My question:

let's assume the following
1) IP owners identified my paypal TODAY. and as long as I know, court orders don't happen immediately (possibly a week or so) and
2) During this period, if i UNLINK the previous email (remove it from paypal), and link new email address to my PP before the court order is issued.
3) So when IP owners contact PayPal to close the OLD/deleted email address. will they still able to find me? When I contact customer support and provide them a deleted email, they are unable to locate my account. So I assume that when I delete the email it is deleted forever.


I am thinking to do this process like once a week. But what you think? is it worth trying? do you think i can escape this way. Of course I assume in this scenario IP owners relies only on the email address shown on the checkout page. If they do a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ order (with transaction ID ) then there is no solution for that.

if you just replace your old email addr with the new email addr,it is still the Paypal account,

PP will shut you down for changing info like that.

Best way is to stop selling those items on your account

We can have 6 email addresses for one PAYPAL account,but only one Paypal balance.
Each Paypal account has a control number,yu can find it in your Paypal account detail,so no matter which 6 of your email account you use,it is still the same Paypal account,thats how Paypal knows

I am not going to use all 6 at same time. Here is what I mean:

1) right now I am using PP1@Mail.com
2) some of brand owners discovered my site and decided that it is infringing. They identified my paypal email: PP1@Mail.com
3) Brand owner(publisher) tries to get termination for PP1@Mail.com from court.
4) Before they publisher contacts Paypal, I change the email from PP1@Mail.com to PP2@Mail.com then REMOVE PP1@Mail.com from my account. so the only email linked is PP2@Mail.com
5) Publisher obtained a court order. and contacted paypal to Terminate/limit this paypal account associated with my old email: PP1@Mail.com

Will they find me that way? even if it was deleted and replaced by another one?

if it is coming from a court order,Paypal legal dept has to comply and find the person behind your old email,it should have a history of your email address,bank and cc data,possibly addresses and phone numbers as well.
Paypal never remove any closed Paypal account,your account is still active,all infomation stays in your history file.
By the way,with 6 email addresses,one is primary email,it sounds like you have just one and replace it with another.

The publisher found out you are selling its textbooks??.
Are they new books you bought from where?
there is an interesting case years ago,a Thai graduate student asked his relatives in Thailand to buy the books in Thailand and sold them on Ebay,the same text books but printed overseas and sold overseas for less,so US students bought his book on EBay to save money and the publsiher went after him.
You can google the details,the publisher claimed it is a violation

The case was decided in favor of the Thai student,but the publisher has since raised the prices of these books printed and sold overseas

1)Books are Old.
2) Are you sure they keep log of all old emails? For example: When I contact call center and provide my old email, they are unable to locate my account at all and they say that email is NOT linked to a PayPal account.


I heard about this case. Actually this still happens. Textbooks in the US are extremely expensive. Same book worth $150 can be bought for $35 in the middle. It has exactly the same content. Only cover is different.

I dont understand why publisher wants to limit/terminate the paypal account,it is an account where you receive money,it should go after your seller ID,if you are selling on a sales venue.

used books are sold every day,same like dvds,appliances.
is it printed by the publisher who is now coming after you?
You called Paypal and talked to the clerk who knows little,but the legal dept of Paypal cannot tell the court they cant find your email address!!!!!
they can find it from your buyer,who sent payment to your old Paypal email address,you cannot change your buyer email address,at least I dont think you can !!!!!!!!

Because I sell on my own website. In the past they only contact host/domain registrar to takedown the site. But recently they started to see where the funds go IE: bank accounts, Stripe, paypal ... etc

are you still trying to sell with my new Paypal ID?
Then it will ask Paypal to remove it,then Paypal get fedup with you and ban you forever.
what is the problem with your books that the publisher wants to shut you down?

I have no problem getting new paypals. I make sure to withdraw all available funds. But sometimes court order arrives suddenly or faster than expected so i would lose $1000 or so. but when that happens i manually refund all orders and ask customers to repay. around 40% repay. but that is better than keeping them for paypal.


The problem with books, is that i sell them cheaper than official prices shown on their site and amazon for example

selling them cheaper is not infringement,
publisher has a site??
something does not add up,you said these are USED text books and you sell them for less.and the publisher keeps wanting to shut you down?
There is a good chance Paypal will shut you down as court orders keep coming in,you are trouble to them
