"this account needs a little help to link it" when adding bank account to PayPal
 

as the title states, I have been getting this message "this account needs a little help to link it, contact us bla bla"

I get this error from time to time, lately getting it alot. Usually adding a account from a different bank works. Sometimes seems cant add certain bank's accounts but later in days or weeks it works again.

Anybody hit this error too?

I`ve got the same problem with fresh PP accounts, only with fresh for now. Trying to resolve it through the chat, but still- nothing.

Is this the typical bank account that's been working for you in the past?

yeah typical fresh proper bank that I have used before, obviously new account but linked to my main real account like I have done successfully in the past

Wait, I' confused. Did you say you have a 2nd PP account that's real and this account is linked to your real account?

sorry for the confusion no, I meant a different bank account but same bank as my main bank. Anyway on one of many attempts they fixed it on chat just now. Said it was a "security feature" - bank added now

Meeting the same problem when try to add bank account to fresh pp account. Try chase and some online bank in different pp account, all show this error. Maybe the security feature. Did any guy has good solutions?

Yeah it’s the security that’s blocking it. I’ve had success adding bank 1 month later after that message

Did you have to call their customer service or just tried yourself and it worked?

When I contact them on chat they fix it, seems its a anti bot feature. They want to see your a real person

it just depends on the account but it seems that they want you to call in more and more from the weekly average post about this topic I've seen

This message usually means that PayPal system blocking adding a BA because of security reasons. It may be caused by IP, lack of activity history (on fresh accounts), VoIP phone numbers etc. The most obvious solution is to call PayPal. Also waiting for a few days (sometimes weeks) is an option.
