Unlinking and Relinking Bank Account

Did a pretty thorough search for past posts but did not see any that exactly addresses my question. Does anybody know if you can unlink a bank account from a PayPal and then relink it to a different PayPal? Also, is there a limit to how many times this can be done? I know you can have two of the same bank accounts linked at a time, but I don't know if there is a rule that an unlinked bank account still counts as one "usage".

I am assuming in this scenario that all PayPal accounts are in good standing...

THey'll have your account info and both your accounts will get linked or flagged you know.

Why don't you just get a new checking account?

The goal was to link it up to a stealth account until the tax threshold is reached and then use it with a new stealth account. Doing it that way could take one bank account much further. The lifespan of the bank account would exceed the PayPal account.

So long as the accounts remain in good standing I don't see how that would be cause for limitation, as they overtly allow you to use the same bank for multiple accounts at a time as it is without there being a problem.

I think all of this is moot though because I was informed that the new tax threshold is much lower than the $20,000 it used to be.

Paypal never remove any Paypal account and its banks.
I believe you can delink a bank account and relink it up to 3 times.

Why don't you just pay your taxes?

I pay plenty in taxes, as I account for everything in spreadsheets. That's not the point. I just don't want to reuse my old SSN information so I wanted to go the stealth route. Isn't that why most people are here?

The problem is with stealth accounts, they don't last very long, so this was an idea to possibly prolong the lifespan of the bank account. Having like 50+ bank accounts instead is absurd.

In the past (like 5-7 years ago before the 21 days hold policy) you could link bank, withdraw, unlink and then re-link to another paypal and withdraw again. You could use the same bank account 3 times to withdraw from 3 different paypals.

No idea now, you have to try and see...

Think this issue was fixed though?

Can’t link a bank account that has been linked to 3 PayPal accounts (in total) previously. A bank account cannot be linked to any more than 3 PayPal accounts over its lifetime.

Thanks, that is very helpful information. Unfortunately my strategy won't work though because tax IDs are apparently now required for PayPal accounts after a measly $600 rather than $20,000.
