Paypal now allows BTC transfer

So ive just read that paypal US will now allow users to transfer BTC and other crypto to EXTERNAL wallets. This is great news. However users will need to be verified and or pass additional checks and this will be rolled out in US to invited users.

Has anyone tried to get their crypto out this way? and what additional checks are they asking for? is it anything new? Unfortunately I dont have US accounts so I cant check myself.

Regards

What is the advantage? Why would anyone buy BTC with paypal?

Re: Paypal now allows BTC transfer

Its more buying BTC with a PP then sending that BTC to another wallet as a way of cashing out

Ugh… I would not trust PayPal to do your crypto. Just use your own wallet ,mate.
Would you trust your uncle who is in the mafia with a penny? I think not.
Even IF the fees are lower, it ain’t worth it.

They’ll ask for your ID and all kinds of things. Not worth it.

If you want to hear what you want to hear and nothing else then that's on you.

If anything YOUR reply above says a lot about you than people here giving you their input which you don't have to follow if you don't want to.

So, ****ing behave

Read on another website that the facility will only be available to fully verified accounts and an existing attached bank account, although not to be used, would be required. The consensus was that it will not replace the need to have an attached bank account. It's merely a facility they plan to offer to fully verified accounts.

I mean, you do understand that they still need the ability to recover monies owed, chargebacks etc don't you?

I assume that in the US they have a ton of verification measures in order to get crypto to withdraw.

Would make life harder, unless they let you withdraw without X,Y,Z steps, I see this as pointless. Much easier methods out there, but let's see what they require in the US in order to make it happen, because they'll use similar techniques if/when they bring it to the UK.

Maybe you should have been more specific with your post?

I can not for the life of me imaging someone needing such a ****tty service unless they are scamming or offering ****ttty service themselves.

You seem like a douchecanoe,

Great news for most but imagine trying to transfer out only to have your transfer blocked or withheld for verification because you know, it's PP.

They will cause issues and ask for so many additional measures I bet, more hassle than good.

I am sure paypal would not allow to use crypto as cash out on bigger amounts , I see risks of limitation if no other significant activity is visible like spending and bank withdrawals

Yep, soon as they see a reason to, they'll slap it on there, your funds will be stuck in BTC, if the market drops, then you're screwed lol.

Re: Paypal now allows BTC transfer

Scanning ID and scanning your face through PayPal app required to enable these new features, which makes the verification process pretty hard for stealth accounts.
