Release time for payment on hold?
 

Have an account that received a payment, and has the 21 day hold. Shipped the item, uploaded the tracking info and the buyer received it already. On the transaction details, it says payment would be released one day after delivery. Payment was never released. Tried contacting customer support through messages and that is useless. I got cookie cutter responses about how 21 day hold works, which is common knowledge. Has anyone encountered a situation where the funds didnt release after delivery? If so, what was your solution?

Well I know what they say isnt always what happens. Wondering if this is going to carry out the full 21 days or what.

If the payment is not in your available balance after 1 day of buyer receiving the item then call PayPal.

This happens sometimes and can be down to the system not updating the tracking accordingly or the item was not shipped to buyers address I.E another address make sure all orders are delivered to buyers address and not work address or any other address as this can cause issues.

Ring PayPal and they will release it for you.

it really depends. Sometimes they do carry out the 21 days and sometimes they don't.

just let it be and see what they do. Do not call them about it.

Why not call them? I’ve got a lot of experience with PayPal I run a full time business using multiple accounts and why wait 3 weeks to get paid when you can just call them to release funds?

Sorry will have to disagree on this one as I said I run successful PayPal accounts for a living making a phone call to release the funds when they should be released is not a big issue. It’s small fish in a small pond. Nothing to worry about.

Wait until you have a good sales history and provide tracking for each transaction. In my experience I was never able to get rid of the 21-days hold until the fifth or sixth payment.

what did you sell?
Buyers can file dispute after receiving the item,if it is a high risk item,Paypal will withhold the fund longer.
Sometimes it is not the seller,it is the buyer ,who could have a history of causing troubles or from a place or using source of fund which may take time to collect

Valid point - possibility of buyer being an issue - just have to wait it unless OP wants to push pp

You need to remove new seller requirements on your paypal account. After that most time there will be no hold on next transactions.

Op means you need to have reached a certain amount of sales history/turnover for your accounts to no longer require 21 day holds.

What op is saying is 100% true. I think one of my PayPal accounts is now 3 months old and I’ve a number of sales achieved and my account does not have 21 day hold anymore.

Well yea, Sam, I know that.

but PP doesn't have like a list of things you need to do to get out of their 21 day hold. They don't tell you that.

Paypal has its own list of high risk items,so it may say 1 day after delivery but it will still withhold the payment longer-high risk items could be iphone,precious metal,and even comic books.
Yes,comic books have high rate of item not received,item not as described disputes
