So all they do is click the pay button, and it takes them to another checkout screen, then they enter their credit card info and bam, thats it.
My merchant account is integrated with Ebay checkout
Props please |

The guide is outdated but aspkin is updating it. Basically Paypal is out or you will be suspended and linked |
hi chris how long if you use paypal will you be linked and suspended. maybe this is how i was linked before. But i was suspended mighty quick? could this have been the reason? thanks |

He is talking in gENERAL tERMS, AS eBAY owns Paypal now..
So , the General Consensus, is no matter, Paypal will end up limiting you, once the sales start to flow..
-- If thats what limited you before?/ Well, only you would know that-- was the old ebay acct linked with ppal?
---IN OTHER WORDS, just because you have a pp acct, does NOT mean the ebay acct goes down,
--On the Contrary, they want you to use pp, It is through our OWN ACTIONS, that cause:
a.) ebay accts to go down
b.) Pp accts to get limited...
(I hope I understood your question??)
Good Luck :) |

| Chris Hanson | 02-07-2008 03:11 PM | I never done out of US accounts.. |
| Ballsack | 03-09-2008 02:43 PM | I don't even use paypal at all now. Quite frankly I don't miss the extra anxiety I feel everytime I log in or make a withdrawal. |
| Jonas | 03-09-2008 03:23 PM | Modee do you ever still use paypal to buy things? I sometimes do, but I hate using it and prefer not to.
Does paypal actually state somewhere they require SS# or is it still a hidden requirement?
Also do you think eBay will soon force people in the USA under 100 feedback to have to accept paypal like in the UK? Everything so far bad that ebay started in the UK came to the USA in about 6 months later. |
| ebayaintstupid | 04-03-2008 05:34 PM | A Question for you Modee... I have read everything, but I am a bit confused about what is exactly being recommended.
If you are setting up a brand new EBAY account and you are about to start listing, you have to set up a new Paypal Account for each EBAY account. Is that correct?
Then, you basically, at some point (some say 2 weeks, some 2 months) start listing using that new Paypal Account, which is linked no matter what. Is that correct?
But then, you are able to set it up so that you bill using alternative methods and almost no one ever has a problem with that and no one has ever complained about it to EBAY or anything? Is that correct?
Finally, if I am a new EBAYer and no payments are going to my linked Paypal account, does that trigger a suspension? I was wondering about this because some time back I got a suspension right after marking a few items as Payment Received without going through Paypal. I, of course, don't know if that was why because all it said was "abusing ebay".

| ebaysucksonice | 04-03-2008 08:20 PM | Hey, I should try that |
| ebay-sucks | 04-03-2008 10:00 PM | For me I cannot get anyone to pay for any item other then pp, 135 sales on my newest account, 1 check, 1 money order, 2 ccnow and everyone else pp.
Many emails from buyers asking why am I sending them a ccnow invoice when you know it is not protected like pp is. Its like they got these people brainwashed.
I wish I could get away from pp too but only 2 takers out of the last 135 sales. I must be doing something wrong. ???? |
| ebay-sucks | 04-03-2008 10:44 PM | Modee
I am afraid to use googlecheckout, thinking that it would take only one buyer to contact ebay that I offered them it.
What is your opinion?
Thank you! |
| Jonas | 04-04-2008 03:04 AM | ebay-sucks, Explain you take paypal through CCNOW as a third party system because otherwise PayPal will eventually freeze your account and hold your funds for random. Say that right in your auction. Also google search and find some good web links, but write them as "www dot paypalwarning dot com" instead of an actual link so eBay can't count it as a link in the auction. There are some good youtubes of news stories, too. |
| ebayaintstupid | 04-04-2008 07:01 AM | But no one answered the questions... for opening a NEW account is this the procedure? Assuming all my prior to 11/2007 accounts are gone.
I have read everything, but I am a bit confused about what is exactly being recommended.

| sim0n_says | 04-05-2008 02:20 PM | Has anyone used the Authorize.Net merchant account linked to you Auctiva so when your buyers check out you don't need to manually ask to send payment to your merchant account? |
| quakerparrot | 04-16-2008 01:23 PM | If I open a paypal account in my husbands name, is it going to link and suspend me? |
| ebayaintstupid | 04-16-2008 01:46 PM | It might... Paypal is now the primary source of suspensions. Make sure your cookies are deleted and then go through the procedure. Some folks recommend using a separate computer for all your activities. May be a good idea because one slip up can result in suspension.
Don't use ING. |
| ebaysuspensionking | 04-24-2008 05:01 AM | hi , now my australian account is forced me to link the paypal account when i want to list items. that's really bad . what can i do to have multiple paypal account besides opening multiple bank account ? is it possible i close my paypal account (linked to suspended ebay acc) and then use the same bank account to open another paypal acc ? |

| ebayhateluv | 07-26-2008 08:26 PM | >> Just NOBODY Likes Ole Paypal!!! I just read about our friend over in another forum.. Seems like nobody has anything good to say about them!!
We periodically review our customers credit card accounts. We recently reviewed yours, and at that time, noticed that you had not used the credit card account listed above for the last several months. Due to inactivity and factors related to credit risk, we closed your account on July 17, 2008. The following event(s) or circumstance(s) were identified in your credit history and were among the reason(s) for our decision:
1)Proportion of balances to credit limits on bank/national revolving or other revolving accounts is too high
2)Amount owed on revolving accounts is too high
We assure you this closure will not appear as a negative mark with the credit bureau reporting agencies, nor will it negatively affect your status with these agencies.....BLAH BLAH BLAH
Paypal is crazy. They dont even report my card to any of the 3. Go figure!
oh yea. you're not alone. just search for paypal here. Tons of horror stories!
PayPal/Ebay switched to GEMB a couple of years ago.
I have one other theory about what might have caused this sudden shut-down; what if it was one of or a combination of these three things ?
(2) (large amount of) money being moved into/out of paypal
-Using paypal for a large funds withdrawal (anything with large paypal transfers will always look risky) |
| postalprincess39 | 08-06-2008 03:43 PM | O.K. so I sign up with new name, address, etc...When I apply for a merchant account, does e-bay verify with the merchant account that you are who you say? Obviously you can't sign up with merchantplus using false information!! I really thoght after being an ebay member for over 6 years I actually thought I was doing everything right.......that is, until I was suspended....twice!!! LOL! In the last 2 months!! OUR dear VERO members are who got me kicked off to begin with!! Anyway,If you are a new member and have very limited transaction history, doesn't ebay force you to have to accept paypal? Call me e-bay illiterate!!! |

| summerdawn | 08-06-2008 09:08 PM | the last account i opened i tried using a different address name etc, did the ip change all that stuff people recommended here and nothing works |
Look what i have come Across Hi,
i was just reading and i have come accorss this on the internet about this person using paypal for there buisness.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you use PayPal I suggest you find an alternative merchant. The experience I have endured since early January '08 has left me flabbergasted at the level of incompetence demonstrated by PayPals so call customer service.
Firstly and without any advanced warning, our business account was set to limited - essentially, our business can not accept payments, make payments, send money, withdraw funds, or close our account.
I was directed to a page asking for details already provided; namely bank verification, telephone verification, and business details - so I enquired what the deal was. After waiting 48 hours I was informed I needed to provide copies of my driving licence, passport, and utility bill. I phoned PayPal asking why they could not ask for these items before limiting my account, thus limiting disruption to my business, which resulted in loss of customers. The arrogant tone was bad enough, but the answer was worse still…I comment this was simply a good example of extremely poor customer service, the arrogant tone on the other end of the PayPal phone simply said, yes of course, good in it.
Let me finish with the codetta – I have furnished PayPal with Company Banking details, verified business address, verified business bank, verified personal bank details, verified home address, business phone number, home number, mobile number, provided copies of passport, driving licence, and utility bill. End result. I’ll copy the e-mail below. Please note no explanation from PayPal as to how they come by the ludicrous decision that my business is an ‘excessive risk.’ PayPal have never been asked to charge back funds to our clients, or been asked for any refund in part or whole, yet we are deemed excessive risk. On top of it all, PayPal will not release money in the account for 180 days (I assume these to be business days), which is in addition to the 3 months I have spend dealing with the whole fiasco.
PAYPAL E-MAIL
After reviewing your PayPal account, we have determined there to be
excessive risk involved and we would like to begin parting ways in a manner
that is least disruptive to your business.
If your PayPal account balance is zero, and you have no outstanding issues,
such as unresolved Buyer Complaints or chargebacks, your account will
remain limited.
If there are funds in your account, the remaining account balance will be
held for a period of 180 days in order to minimise chargeback risks. Any
Buyer Complaints or chargebacks received against your account during this
time will be paid from your account balance. Once the 180-day period has
elapsed, you may either withdraw to a bank account that is registered on
your PayPal account, or request a wire transfer for a fee of 40.00 USD. |
| Jonas | 08-08-2008 08:31 PM | Right now it's impossible to even register for paypal as a buyer. It just says "page not found" after dealing with their unpleasant registration process for every form of registering they have and every browser. |
| shankscomp | 09-02-2008 04:20 PM | I had an ebay account for over 8 years before I got suspended!!! it sucks! |
| digitaliz | 09-02-2008 06:38 PM | Yeah ebay and paypal both suck, but moping about it will not get you anywhere, be pro-active, buy the stealth book, read and digest all the information contained in both the book and on these forums and I gurantee you as long as you don't sell any counterfeit items you'll be up and running on ebay and will be able to stay selling on ebay. |
| thenewb | 09-06-2008 10:57 PM | can't you just integrate your merchant account with authorize.net into your Vendio account (if you have one).. when doing this do you have to get your merchant account approved by ebay? |

EB | This question was asked twice in this thread. No one really answered it. Also finding it hard to find good concrete info on any thread on how to move away from having to use paypal on pre and post 11/07 accounts. I have both. |
What about taking the time to set up around 10 ebay and paypal accounts. That way you can stop using any problem accounts and have a new PP /Ebay account to carry on with.
It takes time to build up several accounts as you will need as many bank accounts to match and as many credit cards or virtual cards.
But it will be worth the effort. Paypal is still the easiest way to receive payments with an ebay account. |
If i get a merchant account, im assuming there will be no chargebacks or limitations etc all the hortible things you experience with paypal. However, i wondered one thing, because i am going to be selling on ebay and 99% of customers pay via paypal, how does it really work. doesnt it reduce your sales and number of customers who pay by paypal?? |

| ebayhatter | 02-10-2010 01:09 AM | Now days ebayers have turned into true scammers ( can't leave bad feedback man reason) they will do worthless chargebacks on paypal and other merchant accounts and most likely win since the backs front the money back to them on the chargeback. Your best bet is to take a check. |
Hi Guys. I heard having third part checkout i.e. e-junction or DPD will reduce the risk of limitation. So if i use E-Junction on ebay sales (paypal and google checkout integrated), is it true you are less likely to be limited from paypal?? Looking for ways to avoid Paypal limitation. I feel like there is no point of having a new account if you know paypal will limit at some point? Is there any way you could avoid paypal limitation, i read an e-book, it gives me some good info, all info is also available here, withdrawal amount, ip changes etc all the basic things that should dont do when you are new. But one thing that is mentioned and recommended there is THIRD PART checkout like E-junction, any good for UK ? | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 05:28 PM. | |
