PayPal won’t accept the Wise bank
 

Hello,

Despite numerous attempts, I’ve been unsuccessful in linking my wise to Paypal account. I sought assistance from PayPal’s support team, who informed me of a potential block on my account that would require a waiting period of 48 hours before I could attempt to connect the accounts again. However, even after waiting for three days, the issue persisted.

In an attempt to resolve this, I closed my existing PayPal account and created a new one. Disappointingly, this too failed to link.

Additionally, I reached out to Wise to request a change of my bank account, but this request was denied.

I’m at a loss for what to do next. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Wise is a digital bank and I thing both PayPal and eBay do not like digital banks as they are easier for non residents to open US accounts without a SSN.

Try to link normal bank, normally "big guys" don't like fintech banks.

Because it's not a bank. It resells a real bank's product. "Wise is a Money Service Business" (Like Chime, which had to remove the word "bank" from its web site and ads a few years ago.) In California, like Chime, it's licensed as a "money transmitter."

Even the US government will not pay social security into a Wise account.

According to this article ,Wise offers FDIC insurance up to $250K.
Where does Wise keeps your money?
In a US bank? and in whose name?
If I understand how FDIC insurance works,it is only for personal account not business account and Wise is a business .
Also since the Silicon SVB bank disaster,some find out FDIC covers bank in USA,and SVB has a bank in the Carribean and some of its customers are overseas nationals thinking they get FDIC protection.
It turns out there is no protection as it is not in USA,it must be a US bank in USA,not in the Antilles or Timbuktu
