PayPal has linked my business account to some unknown account
 

Hello guys.

Please advise what I should do in the below situation:

I received an email from PayPal asking me to "provide more information about my business". When I logged onto my PayPal account, it says I must "Confirm if you’ve resolved issues on your linked accounts"

When I clicked on that it gives the below message:
"Your account seems to be linked with one or more PayPal accounts having some unresolved issues. You must close all unresolved issues on the linked PayPal accounts to restore this account back to normal."
It shows an email address unknown to me and not a domain that I have ever used. It is most definitely not my account.

PayPal has not yet limited the account but has given me until 8 November to resolve, whereby they may "make additional features unavailable".

Please advise on what I should do in the above situation? This is a business account using 100% genuine details, not a stealth account so definitely do not want to lose the account.

if it is not stealth,you should go to Paypal forum and ask,there is one section for business accounts,and Paypal rep could be there to help you.

OP, sometimes pp sends out these generic messages unrelated to the true issue at hand.

when they write 'provide more information' what exactly have they asked for?

regardless, this is going to take work on your part to resolve including a call to pp potentially

Can you withdraw your money? if so do that then call Paypal...

try to log into Paypal using that email address,you dont know the password,but see what happens?

Withdraw the money first if it let's you

Then ring paypal.

100% sure you don't know what these other accounts are?

Most cases is that the account has a negative balance and he has to bring it to zero which means he has to pay.
But if he said it is not his,then he should call Paypal
who is the ISP of that account?

Thanks everyone. I withdrew all funds, then I contacted PayPal and told them that I do not know the account that they have linked to my account. They unlinked the accounts and the issue is no longer visible on my account.
