PayPal asks for ID even through PC version
 

Did you get the limit on your Paypal today/yesterday? Am I the only one who is asked by Paypal to take selfies even through the computer version?

Location of account: UK

I logged through Octo browser and Paypal was still asking me to take selfies and scan my ID.

Anybody else having the same problem?

Was the account created on a mobile phone or on a desktop PC?

Was it a business or personal account?

When did this limit appear? On creation? Adding a card? Adding a bank? Receiving a payment?

I havent made any UK paypal accounts in the last week or so but have had no issues / seen no changes when confirming identity on accounts right up to and including today. Process was the same as it has been for the last few years. ID and address proof uploaded. No selfie.

The only noticable change I have seen is in the document review time. For more or less 18 months straight now documents would get reviewed within 7 or 8 hours of submission. Since 4 days ago the review time has been 40 to 60 hours approx

The account was created through my phone. But it doesn't matter because two weeks ago, I created an account this way, but there was no such confirmation by selfies. It's a simple limitation after sale with 4 puncts.

In this thread, people have already posted about this problem that paypal is asking them for selfies on their camera. They were advised to log in via the PC version. But today I went through the PC version and Paypal is still asking me for selfies. Did anyone get this kind of limit today/yesterday? Are you having the same problem?

I mean I went to remove the limit through octo browser, through my computer but the selfies check didn't disappear.

Do you think that if you register through a computer selfie check won't show up? It'll have to be checked.

Have you tried another browser? Plus the images you sent seem to be through a phone browser?

No, I haven't tried it.
I just took screenshots on my phone. I ask people maybe they received a limit yesterday or today and can tell. I'm sure this is a required feature. And all further checks within the limit will require you to scan the document and make the selfie check

I’ve just read on the pp website that the scan is only available on mobile. I think your browser might be the issue.

Have you tried removing this limit recently? 5 days ago it was possible to upload ID without selfie through a browser. but today it didn’t work

Do they expect you to use a webcam? There are pcs with no camera facility, could you post a picture or something?

They know he has access to a camera because the account was opened on a phone.

Perhaps there were settings in the anti-detection browser regarding the video camera or because the account was registered from a phone. That's why I'm asking, maybe someone registered an account yesterday/today only from a computer without a video camera and through Mozilla

But a week ago I registered an account via phone, and when it asked for a selfie, I logged in through Mozilla and uploaded the document as usual, without a selfie.

Today I logged in through antidetect and was still asked about a selfie

My experience is that I set up through phone, got limited then used chrome on a reset laptop.

Verification changed to normal in the laptop.

Maybe your anti detection is taking you to the mobile site.

My experience was this week btw.

I will update you as I’m continuing stealth on mobile.

This will be very stressful if what your saying is now the norm.

There's a good chance the "loophole" you were using has been identified and closed out.

Have you tried to access the account on a PC that does not have a webcam?

Well then we will all have to take selfies and scan documents. My friend writes that he tried this on a portable browser without a camera and he had the same problem

I've told you repeatedly how to avoid this but you don't seem to want to listen. Don't create accounts on your phone.

No doubt there will come a day when Paypal will require this on all accounts but at the moment they do not ask for selfies when using desktop computers for creation and usage.

Users created accounts via PC. Why are you arguing if you don't even know what you're talking about? You did not receive limits yesterday/today. Once you get it you will see what I'm talking about

I made 6 accounts this morning on a PC. No limitations or requests for selfies.

Who specifically has made an account on a PC is getting this? Every instance that I've read, the person made the account on a phone.

Anyway, you crack on my man. Dont let me stop you. Selfies and creative docs arent that difficult to do. :thumb:

Can you send a picture of what it’s showing on pc? Maybe we can understand better?

You should prob listen to the mod, if this was widespread the forum would be going crazy.

Getting same issue since a week ago. Accounts created on desktop getting the new ID verification, have never logged in from a phone. Only get it when account gets limited after big tx. I can disable all the webcams, issue persists. Well, they allow you to manually upload the images, only issue is getting matching drop faces

Ok. Thanks for clarifying.

Selfie images are fairly easy to do so not a real problem. It just takes a bit more time to do. The main thing is that the live video capture can be bypassed.

What country paypal was this on?

Estonia. Uploading the selfie part gives me error tho, not sure how to solve it. might be a bug on their side

If it's a new security measure then likely will be a bug. Did you check your image against their requirements? There's usually minimum and maximum image sizes.

On the accounts I've created today, I will confirm identity on them tomorrow. It will be interesting to see if that process has been changed or if it will remain the same.

And how are you getting limited after only setting up in a day? Is there a way to verify ID without limitation?

Yes, there is.

And just to add, the identity confirmation process on UK Paypal remains unchanged (for now). This was on a newly created account.
