Can anyone tell me how to buy sim cards in America?

I've been to Australia and you can easily buy sim cards from 711, I don't know if you can do the same in America? If not then how one can get multiple sim cards in America? I need American numbers to open stealth account,

Haven't looked in a while but there used to be sellers on ebay who would activate and post SIM cards around the world.
