Paypal just stole another $5000 from me

Paypal banned my account and at exactly 180days, the money was transferred to paypal as Paypal loss recovery... NO AUP

what was the item ?or items ?

I think Automaster said in another thread he has a shop on shopify and use shopify to accept payment.
SHopify may have a merchant account and will accept cc for some shops but not all shops qualify/
ALI has ALI payment,AMZN has one too,but fee is like 12% Google and Apple pay.
Long ago I used Google Pay once

Paypal will only confiscate the money after 180 days if it is AUP violation,OP said it is not.

Re: Paypal just stole another $5000 from me

Hello, it has happened in my community of sellers.
I recommend you forget it, in this case forget that money.
When we called them they said that the PayPal account was involved in scams and violated security policies in the United States.
They simply stole the money.
The option they gave us was to send a letter to the United States regulator so that they could refer the case to Paypal and we could return the money.
As I told you above, I think you know when it is a stealth account and they simply steal your money. I lost 800 dollars

This is why I stopped accepting gaypal on all my websites months ago. Now they cannot create bogus holds or steal from me anymore. Problem solved.

Re: Paypal just stole another $5000 from me

Unfortunately we must look for new ways to receive our payments. Although I understand that sometimes it is not easy to migrate to other payment gateways, but we must take the step.
I think that one option is cryptocurrencies, but it is an option that at least on my website is rarely used, I have even thought that many may be worried that it is a scam.

Re: Paypal just stole another $5000 from me

this happened because you violated the basic rules of dealing with paypal

amounts like 5K should only be accumulated on a real account where you can take them to court

on stealth there should be a balance cap of about 1K-1.5K , if they do not allow to withdraw it yet you do not accept new payments until it is withdrawn

the reason is that the amount of current balance is a major factor for limitations , the higher the balance they can freeze the more likely the account is gonna go down

you can look at this from their perspective , they charge a fee of 4% for example , if you take the frozen 5K it would be 4% of 125K

that means you need to make a turnover of 125K so that they can make a profit of 5K with such a high turnover driving up their risks massively due to possible disputes and chargebacks. here they just seize the 5K immediately with no risks whatsoever

for that reason large balance should never be kept on any paypal account where you would not be able to take legal action. and paypal do lose in court frequently , they tend to go for out of court settlements with non disclosure agreements but obviously only on real accounts

You were using PP on your website?
Do you have a lot of chargebacks?

Re: Paypal just stole another $5000 from me

There is a data base where they keep records of your merchant account, even Paypal can tap into it,to see how many chargebacks, defaults you have.
Banks are not so kind .
There is no secret anymore, there is also database on homes,if you apply for Homeowner insurance, they can find out how many and what kind of claims have been filed on the house ,they wil also look into your claims history on prior homes .
