Apparently stripe that's worth 3x of PP is buying PP.....


Not sure what will happen to PP and people using pp for eBay moving forward

There are still countries allowing direct Paypal payments on eBay?

You can pay with Paypal on Ebay, but AFAIK there are no countries that you can receive money to PP

That's what I thought. So there won't be any noticeable difference, if this merger does go through. Part of the ongoing pattern of megacorps consolidating everything.


I have a stripe account and I have a Paypal account. They're already providing exactly the same service with comparable rates. So no big surprise to me if these two companies do merge.. and Square will probably be added into the mix next.

Paypal said it has no interest in selling itself,and is looking into some defense tactic.
Paypal may become like coke,xerox,google.why should it sell itself?

It is applying to become a bank and offers small business loan and saving accounts .

Discover never make it big,it is like Kohl compared to WMT AND TGT.
I have a Discover card,I dont remember where I placed it.
BTW,what has Capital One done to improve the acceptance of Discover card?

Interesting article on BLOCK yesterday WSJ,it hosted a party last September,costing JACK Dorsey $65millions.for 8,000 workforce,now it is laying off 4000!
It said Square is competing with Toast and Shopify while Cash App competes with Venmo and Apple.
$65 millions,not a TYPO!

Aren;t Stripe,Square and Cash APP are all owned by Dorsey (Block)?
I am still waiting for someone to enlighten me on what Capital one did to Discover card?

I haven't seen an eb platform that lets sellers get paid via pp - buyers can still use pp to pay for things on eb

If not now, they'll merge some way or another in the next few years. I'd bet a few dollars on it.


It'll be a stripe, square, paypal megamerger.. similar to what's been happening to all of the TV networks and movie production companies. Coinbase will most likely become involved at some point as well.
