Can paypal touch my credit score or prosecute me???
 

Ok. I have a paypal with a negative balance of -897. I will not pay it. They unjustly took the money from me. Can they do anything to my credit score if they don't have my SSN? This is a Stealth Paypal.

If they don't have your ssn you're fine and they shouldn't especially if it's a Stealth Account. Might want to cancel the Bank Account attatched to it though. Just a thought.

I think they had my ssn on my old account, with a bigger negative balance, and they STILL didn't do anything. So don't worry. But do immediately close your linked bank account because they will attempt a direct debit.

Alright so they wont do anything? I would like some more impute from some more people.

If it is a stealth Paypal account then there is nothing they can do. If they can validate the details you gave them then it will get passed to a debt collection agency after a few months. So if the number/address you gave them is a real one they will start receiving calls and letters.

Even if they had your real name/address/DOB/SSN there is not much they can do beyond irritate you with letters and phone calls from a DCA.

Don't think they won't take your money. Don't assume it. Close the account.
The fact is, they will attempt to take it out. Even if you removed the direct debit agreement.... close the bank account.


And no. They will not come after you. As far as your original question... only a government attorney can prosecute you... however, they could sue you in civil court. However, they will not.
