Default 21 day hold on my VERY 1st sale????? Come ON !!!!

I just got listing the other day and finally get an auction ended and the 1st one gets held for 21 days. Paypal is a joke. I read into why they do it and understand their rules but are they going to do ALL of my sales this way? I need this money sooner than that. It really irritates me that they couldnt leave a few bucks in there to cover my shipping. They could do that and still do what they want to do by holding your money.

Anyway, just wondering if this is how they all are going to be for a while or just a few here and there? Thanks

Every account is different. Some people get holds on every item up to the 20 DSR's and some people only get a couple. They're not going to keep your funds for 21 days UNLESS you didn't upload tracking and the buyer doesn't leave feedback before then. In my experience, I've always had my funds released within 5 days of shipping the item.

I have an account right now with 15 feedback and no holds at all.

Then another account with 12 feedback and holds on every single item except a couple 2.99 items.

Who knows?

Just lucky or unlucky.

Maybe it all depends to whom is your account assigned to! For one, I will stop shipping to Italy, Paypal holds the money on old account, plus I never hear back from the buyer.

They do everything based on risk assessment. There could have been a lot of other factors, price of the item, high risk, vero, account age, payment origin, it also may have just been random.

i dont understrand why people make a big deal about this, its really not that big of an issue, its been said over and over, they do not hold the funds for 21 unless buyer doesnt leave feedback or tracking doesnt show delivery

ive had one transactioun get held the entire time, this was because the tracking never showed delivery and buyer never left feedback, was a new ebay member and most likely just wanted this one thing, its really not that big of a deal

people stop crying

And you most likely will not. Unless you use a real merchant account you will probably have this in the future. The good news is when the holds are lifted, you won't have to deal with it again. If paypal has tracking AND feedback is left, it's released. It's really not a big deal.

Every account I have has the 21 day hold but I ship out the next day first class put the tracking into paypal and as soon as it's delivered in 2-3 days it's released, after about 20 sales it usually goes away but by then you got plenty of cash anyway.

The big deal here in my case is that I am BROKE. I finally got onto ebay again where I make my ONLY income and down to where I litterally have $20 to my name and they hold all of my payments. Now I got one that costs $55 to ship and now I have to figure out where the heck I am going to get $55 to ship since they are holding all of the shipping money as well. This is why I am "crying" about it as some above would say. I will be fine soon but just am having trouble with this hold stuff now.

You would think at some round table meeting at paypal someone would say "we should unlock a reasonable amount for shipping so there wont be any nonshipping problems".

Anyway, rant finished. lol.

I used to have the same problems for that you need to go to craigslist, pawnshops or get a paydayloan. Another way you can do it is sell used junk thats related (in the same category) at least 20 or 30 until the hold is released than start listing your dropshipping items little by little.

Where does KingRay say he dropships? If he does then he needs an altogether different approach. All I read is non-shipping problems.

i agree to the fact that they should allow you to print a shipping label to ship the item. By printing it through paypal they assure the item is being shipped and they now have the tracking info

He said he needs 55$ to ship and they are holding the shipping as well as if it were different from the 55$. I assume that would mean he's dropshipping or the "as well" part was just a misswording.

^^^Fair enough. IF the OP is dropshipping , at the very least he should have the funds for shipping costs.
