Applied for merchant account with Authorize.net and was DENIED! WHAT NOW?

Ok so like many of you, I HATE paypal. I was reading in the forums that for long term success and avoidance of limitations, it is best to create an LLC, open an eBay business account and get a merchant account with authorize.net. I sell high risk items like iPhones, as well as the chargers and accessories that go with them. Since I was denied an account with authorize.net due to bad credit, what can I do now that will insure that I don't get limited on eBay?

I have already created an ebay account with my LLC but have not signed up for paypal. I am trying to avoid it at all costs because I truly feel it is a dead end. I am looking to build my LLC eBay account very strong with a TON of feedbacks and don't want eBay or paypal standing in my way. Please help:>

I'm basically looking for other "fool proof" payment gateways that might approve someone with horrible credit :-/

Does your spouse have better credit then you do?

Also, have you looked into getting negatives removed from your credit file?

PM me and I might be able to help you get some of those negatives removed from your file to clean up your report some.

I have reached my daily limit of PMs but when it is open again I will see if I can help you.

Sandy

Does anyone here know the FICO score needed or how your report has to look to get ok'd by authorize.net?

They don't just look at your credit score, they also consider what kinds of items you're selling, what your feedback is like on your particular website, usually eBay.

You can also start an LLC or corporation that will have no credit beacon, this is of course better than bad in most circumstances.

I started an LLC...they look at your personal credit unless your LLC has been open for 2 years or more. Mine is just pushing 2 weeks :) They require a 500 credit score but they check experian which I have the LOWEST score on. The other two credit reporting agencies show scores of almost 600. I am under 500 for experian which is why I was denied. They didn't check feedback because they didn't even ask for my user id. if they did then they would have come up with zero feedback because its a brand new account.

Get that fixed... it's not that hard to pull some strings here and there to raise it. 500 is really low.

How about google checkout? If you sell digital items that are non-tangible such as ebooks, then I can help.

luvmyyorkie 02-16-2010 07:57 AM

so there is no other safe method of doing this other than authorize.net? they are the only good merchant company??

First Edition 02-16-2010 09:49 AM

If you use google checkout, you could always make the invoice for something else.

Try merchantexpress.com or charge.net.
