Do banks alert paypal when you close your bank account?
 

i have a stealth account that had been linked to a local credit union account, and I got a threat of a $1500 chargeback from a buyer, and even though I got signature confirmation, I closed the account just to play it safe.

Anyway, a couple days later, I noticed the bank account was no longer linked and paypal has the account listed as verified. But the buyer hasn't filed a chargeback yet, and there have been no bank transfers since I closed the bank account.

So how did paypal find out the bank account is closed? This worries me because as a result they probably know my real name too.

No bank dosent alert paypal if that was the case they would have to alert every one or thing that dose ACH depoists into your account

When the direct debit mandate is terminated I beleive an automated alert is sent.
