DBA verification
 

I went the DBA route and am selling again and finally received my bank card. Which I need to lift the 500.00 limit on Paypal.The problem is ( i think) that it came to my home address instead of the POBox address and is in my name , not the DBA name.Does anyone know how I can check it , verify it as Paypal would to see the name and address it will show?
FYI My post office has given me heck over not putting P.O.Box instead of the actual building address and my box # .So far they havent stopped my mail but they did ask me to change it.

Well I don't know where Strike1 is lately....and I really need to be able to check my card's verification info myself before I give it to Paypal. I've scoured the posts here and it seems the name is not so much and issue as the address returned. Please if anyone knows how to verify a card's info, let me know

Well Paypal is asking for a credit card to lift the 500 limit. I have a new card to go with my new DBA account but it came to my home addres instead of to the DBA address(pobox) and it has my name instead of the DBA name.
I can ask the bank tomorrow but they may say one thing and if they are wrong then all my hard work getting the DBA etc is wasted

You can use certain Giftcards with Paypal to verify your account. Even some prepaid debit cards you can get at most grocery stores. But I see why you want to use a DBA. There are alternatives though.

Aspkin, I didnt think a linked VC could un-limit a PP account. I also did not think a VC could verify the user. I thought only a SS# could do the above.

A DBA is Doing Business Asfor business account.

Well I just talked to the bank and she said the card verifies the pobox address which is good but that it has to have my name on it which is not legally necessarily so but different banks will do it their own way i guess.

When I tried to lift the 500 limit with Paypal before my card had arrived, they asked for a cc and would not use the gift card I had ID verified with.
I'm going to try it now with this DBA card and will be back here to report what happens.

First I applied for the Paypal debit card and used my new DBA card for that. That was the address verification. Sorry, I wrote above that it was to lift the limit but I was wrong....that was for the Paypal debit card.Wont know about that for a couple weeks. Then I went to lift the 500 limit. It gave me a choice of 2 out of 3 things to do .
1.verify SS#
2.Bank account
3. expanded use form
I'd already done #2 (not funny) so I chose #3. They charge 1.95 from the DBA credit card and when it shows up on my statement there will be some numbers associated with it that I have to enter in Paypal to complete the process.
So far so good. Nice to have things working for a change.

I bet PayPal's SS# requirement stops legit people but the serious scammers just steal SS#s so paypal is just attracting scammers.
