Paypal takes money from wrong source!

WTF I'm so pissed off, I made a payment through Paypal (not on eBay) and made absolutely sure to double-check that I select my credit card as the funding source. So what do they do? They take money out of my BANK ACCOUNT instead which is now overdrawn thanks to these incompetent losers. I've been searching around the net and apparently this has happened to other people too. Possibly because Paypal uses real crappy software.

I just found out this evening about it so I probably can't talk to the bank or anything till Monday, but is it too late to do something about this anyway? Has this happened to anyone else??

It's happened to me a few times.... it's annoying. You can call your bank ahead of time, get them to notate the account maybe, to get the overdraft fee credited later on. It could make the process easier.

Yea PayPal loves to get free fees. They charge the buyer or seller a credit card processing fee and then take it from your bank account but the fee is still charge even tho it isn't a credit card fee.

Yep, paypal are having a field day doing stuff like this over the past 23 days. I have gone as far as doing a print-out of each transaction. I mean I know what account funds I want to use, wtf do paypal do the opposite? They don't like seeing their error:rolleyes:

Thanks for the responses.

Well it looks like no harm done in the end, really. I went to the bank earlier today and explained everything, and they had no problem just giving me a new account number and letting me off the hook for the overdraft fee. It was fortunate that I didn't wait any longer too, because from what they told me Paypal was already attempting to hit my account yet a SECOND time! :suspicious:

On the very last screen you have to click NO! Otherwise they'll take money out your checking account even if you already indicated CC.
