Do you get dispute resolution Closure notices?

For the second time in about a month I've had a dispute claim disappear without any email notification I've whether it's been resolved. Both were labeled as Significantly Not as Described and not for ebay purchases. And both were due to shopper stupidity. I'm not exactly sure what's happening here. Is paypal deciding in my favor without bothering to notify me? Usually there'll be a record of the dispute being closed on my account. I don't even see that anymore, much less get the emails.

From my experience paypal doesn't care about off ebay transactions so if a buyer files for "Not as described" you can just ignore the entire dispute and it will automatically close within 7-12 days. In your favor. :D

Still it's quite strange. Can't the buyer ultimately get his CC company to do a chargeback? That would seem like the next logical step.

Not from my experience because I sold something for $400 and he opened a "Item not as described" claim and I still ended up winning.
He then threatened me by saying he was going to report me to the Cyber crime or thief, whatever it's called if I didn't refund him.
But then a few weeks later I saw him selling the same item on eBay and got just about the same price I sold it to him for.
This off-ebay method makes me very wealthy easily. :D

The shocking part is that these buyers simply leave you alone afterwards without any further trouble. I even offered a refund to my most recent buyer if he would just return the item at once and nine days have gone by without any sign of the item. It seems as if he was just waiting for paypal to take care of the dispute and then he could return the item at his leisure or not at all.

Most people don't want to go through the hassle of a chargeback. If they have the knowledge or the reasons to do this, they would do it without opening the dispute.
