Shipping internationaly, how to protect yourself with paypal?

I really hate that I cannot ship internationally becuase of all the fraud that is potentially there that comes with shipping internationally and using paypal....is there any way around it. What I was thinking.................a buyer contacted me asking if I would ship to slavkia and how much it would cost......I want to be protected 100% from a paypal taking my money situation.....what can I do.....can I offer to sell the item to her outside of ebay with a paypal "service" invoice??? Would that protect me 100% from a claim of not received etc.?????Thanks!

Yes, you can refund their payment and tell them paypal requires a tracking number and since their is no tracking to their country, the only way you can sell to them is as a gift or service.
Be warned though, that Paypal does not like more than 1 or 2 gifts or to many service payments in a row. Unless your account has previous service payment history.

Can I instead then just ask them to send the payment (direct payment) to my paypal address????? Would that work? Thanks!

Yes, you could tell them to send the payment as gift or services directly to your paypal email address. Or you could send then a payment request and pick services instead of goods to avoid needing tracking number.

I used to ship internationally...My ebay feedback used to be in different languages untill my account got suspended...:) If you sell Vero items, be careful as many customs in different countries require some sort of proof that the stuff you are mailing is authentic...I can assume that there is also some kind of a list of products that should be inspected closely (e.g. for authenticity, expiration dates etc.)...As i said I used to ship to many countries in Europe, Australia....but...many packages were returned...

One more thing. Yes, you can provide a tracking info to PayPal. I used to ship via usps, Priority or Express Mail and submit the tracking info to PayPal (the priority/express mail label/receipt and insurance numbers). Oh, yes. Don't forget to insure your parcels. One of my packages got lost half a year ago, I filed a claim with the usps and got my money back last week :) It took for a while though...
I had a few disputes with my abroad buyers....I submitted all info to PayPal...and st*p*d PayPal asked them to return the item for a refund but it would have cost them about $40 ...so, they decided to keep it :)
