Paypal, Bank Accounts & Names
 

Does the name you sign up with on Paypal have to match the name on the bank account? I'm guessing not. But what about the direct debit form that you fill in to confirm the Paypal account? Has it got to be accurate on there for them to make those 2 small deposits?

I did a quick search of the forums, but opinions seem to be mixed :|

Some banks do some banks don't. Maybe a UK expert can give you the correct ones.

I know that bank transfers go through fine if the name is different. Not so sure about Paypal/Direct Debit though.

No the names do not need to match, for most banks anyway. I know this because i have accounts with santander, bank of ireland, alliance & Leicester which are attached to paypals with all different names from my actual bank account.. its great

but i heard loyds tsb & ing direct share information with paypal so maybe stay clear from their but the few i listed at the top will work fine
