Does suspension at ebay mean paypal too??
 

I have been suspended from ebay after only being registered for 12 hours and I assume it is because I gave too much info in my about me page. I currently sell on overstock and paypal is very important to me. Will my paypal account now be suspended also--I have never had a ebay transaction on it yet. Please help as I can not afford having paypal shut me down too. thanks very much for your help------

Dave- we need more info.. What did the email from ebay site as the reason for the susp? Were you buying alot of the penny e-books? How did you link the Paypal to the ebay if no transactions yet? Does the Paypal acct have some tenure to it or is it brand new?

FYI- they do not usually even bother with the about me page- reason i know this- had a competitor that had MY personal info on his about me page-- took me almost a week to get it pulled, many calls, emails, then the emails saying the links were mis directed, so almost like the about me, is way, way on the back burner?? Then following week, back up-kept emailing again + again, couldnt get it off...

Hey every one thanks for the replies--Here is what has happened. I was selling on my girlfriend of four years account and I built the account very well with no negs selling books. Her and I had a bad breakup and I could no longer acces the account so I went and started my own account and continued listing my books. I immediately listed about six books and that night recieved a notice of account suspended for abusing ebay. Of course I had started a paypal account also with that new account. So I went to another auction site and began selling books and still am to this day with good success i might add. the account that I was selling on(my girlfriends) was not suspended so I really have no clue why they shut my new account down. I even wrote them and told them the whole stoery but as you know I only recieved a generic response and never have been told what I did wrong. I only assumed that it was my home page cause I frantically read the rules and saw that you cannot advertise a business outside of ebay. I had put info about my local shop[ with phone numbers but did not solicit for sales that way. I still am confused as to why they shut me down and the ******* wont respond. Now that I am selling on the Overstock I still need paypal and am using it but I am afraid that my money may at some point be frozen if another knee jerk reaction happens by these big *******s. I have never sold porn or anything offending just antique books and my listings were the same format as I have been doing all along. Because books are the hottest category on overstock I really am not in a hurry to go back to ebay I just dont want my paypal messed up over this. So that is why I ask is it innevitable that they will close me down there too????

Don't worry , its not your fault that Ebay booted you off. 1 out of 3 accounts made will go down for no reason. I believe Ebay just want to look good. Each time you sign up it gets count as a new member so at the end of the quarter they can say Ebay is doing good , members up by sos and so numbers...

If it was me-- and you're the one that built the acct up-- I'd offer her some cash to get the password-- you keep the acct. (IN all reality)- thats what I'd do.,.

I would do the same too. You might have to play mr. lover man aka nice guy to get that password though

Penny books did it

It also depends how soon/frequently you buy the penny books after opening an account as well. Wait long enough after opening the account to buy the first, space each purchase out some and you'll probably be fine.
