Paypal Monthly Income Limit

How do you know if your paypal has a monthly income limit?! and how do you find out what it is?
because some situations..people use it for their websites just fine..with no limit and such..so i was wondering..cause alot of customers..prefer paypal because its "the safest way to pay online"

You learn the limit by pushing it to the limit, so far I'm up around $4700 for 30 days on one and my paypal balance is about $100 and still not limited, I'm sure it's getting a little close though I can feel it.

yeah. i guess. is that the only way? haha. ahh i hope i'm lucky enough o.O

I have 2 sites that accept both credit cards and PayPal. I definitely get PayPal orders, but the majority of orders - by far - are paid by credit card. So you might want to look into a merchant account.

Merchant accounts can limit you too, but once they see you are fulfilling orders quickly and there are few or no chargebacks, they will raise the limits.

I would do this even if you have to go with a "high risk" processor that charges more. Just use them for six months and then you can switch to a new processor easily. The new processor will want a couple of months of statements. Once you HAVE a merchant account, they are easy to get.

A good one is charge.com - if they cannot approve you, they will hook you up with a company that CAN. And they will usually give you an answer within 24 hours. It costs nothing to try, so you have nothing to lose.

jbluntz 06-24-2010 02:19 AM

I just signed up for charge.com a minute ago, wait and see how that goes paymate is another good one, in fact I'm gonna sign for them right now.

Just signed up for paymate took less than a minute has a $5000 monthly sales limit. I had no clue it was gonna be that simple haha.

Isnt paymate real details though? It cannot be a stealth account??

rsot 06-24-2010 08:25 AM

I'm still waiting for Paymate to hit Canada.

I know Moneybookers I have gotten through on stealth ha but not so many people choose the option to pay with Moneybookers...

i tried to apply for paymate but when i tried to make a merchant account it decline my application..eh..
and jbuntz how did charge.com work for you??
how you liking it??
anyone else have suggestion for good merchant accounts/good ones to start out with/etc.

jbluntz 06-24-2010 02:01 PM

They're still reviewing my aplication, just getting other options set aside for the future. I'm still doing just fine with paypal for now.

I looked at charge.com last year. Fees are up there. But what caught my eye was a large amount of complaints on them holding money or freezing accounts.

Those need to be taken with a grain of salt sometimes since people can make their own mistakes and blame the company. But I do remember being turned off a tad on complaints.

But jbuntz, please keep us up to date on your findings.

is the fees as high as paypal?
