They won't come in 14 days. If they try, they'll end up car-jacked and stranded on I-96.

so i wonder what is going to happen. i though some lawyer or sellers would have sued paypal over this sooner

Vicvelcro 06-25-2010 03:23 PM

Well, I think the issue is that eBay is responsible for that particular policy - not Paypal. So it is appropriate to call eBay to task on it.

In Detroit, judges and magistrates have little patience for those who fail to appear or who default regarding a judgement. My guess is that eBay will not likely be granted the extension post-juris. Had they requested the extension before the judge ruled in default, they very likely would have been extended. I hope the judge doesn't make an exception just because the case involves eBay. Failure to appear should apply equally to big corporations in the same way it applies to individuals.

MMMMMMMM I wonder what this would mean on a larger scale, will they change their policy?

Well Guys Here is the Thing There is an Opportunity here, I Truly believe that if there is a Time to Organize ourselves this is it, I Think we Need to get Behind and show some support for this Case.

First off you MUST Understand the what that little article is saying First Paragraph:

EBay has asked a federal court in Detroit to set aside a default judgment in a lawsuit over the online auction giant's practice of forcing sellers to use PayPal.

Pretty Slick, What Ebay wants here is for the Judge to set up a Penality Like lets say $1,000,000 That would settle the case if Ebay Does not show up in court to defend itself in court (Defaults)

We need to let the those sellers Know that Part of a Default Penality, MUST Be the COMPLETE Elimination of Ebay's Policy to Require Paypal in ANY Way Shape or Form.

Something very similar was recently achieved in Australia which Paved the way for Paymate.

Another interesting Quote from the Article:

EBay was held in default last week in U.S. District Court in Detroit, after failing to respond to the lawsuit. Attorneys for eBay requested a 14-day extension

This Means that Ebay did not show up in court on a Schedueled Hearing Date, Most likely because Ebay's Lawyers are Pushing for a 'Default Penality"

This is the Address of the Lawyers Handeling the case for the Sellers against Ebay:

Macuga & Liddle, PC

975 East Jefferson Avenue
Detroit, MI 48207 US

I Could Not come up with a website, But if I find one I will Post ie.
