paypal slip?
 

Hi all,
I am new to all this. I was suspended at the start of last month. I decided to go the changing name route and used my mothers address and phone number to open new pay pal and ebay accts. I have started buying with the new ebay acct and the new paypal account is linked to a new bank account with my new name but is registered to my real address as I was told that that info was private. The problem is that when I went to verify my new paypal account they said that the info didn't tally. They said it was address info so they would have to phone the tel number I gave them - which they did and via skype my mum took the clearance code. Now my concern is that although I may have been verified, have I infact just been busted?

Hmm... I thought Paypal didn't check (or even have access to) the name or address of the bank account, just the account and routing numbers. I'm curious about this too.

Paypal doesn't have access to that information. He slipped up somewhere.

Maybe they were just giving a random reason for a security check - I had problems clearing last time as well when everything was kosher - I had to call them. I double checked all the info I gave them and it was definately all my mothers, which is why I was very surprised and a little concerned. I just wanted to double check that I had not made an error based on assumption/incorrectly understood information.

just one thing - the ip address they have access to is the public one right? I have a static address which I cleared, in fact it is changed regularly as I tend to switch off the mains power if I'm away overnight, and the computer I use for them was cleaned, stripped and new software put on and is only used for business, but I use broadband, so the system address is constant.Parsis
