Failed withdraw from bank

Paypal tried to withdraw $ from my bank. Not 100% sure why, I never did it. I suspect it was from a partial refund I gave a buyer. Not sure how I screwed it where they tried to get it from my bank, it was done over a week ago and money was in my paypal account at the time. It may even be a surcharge from Canada Post. I've seen that on my credit card many times... but not my real concern.

I got an email:
You recently attempted to transfer funds from your bank account to your PayPal account.

In any case, it failed as I didn't have the money in there. Had I known I would have made sure it was in there.

So, did they just get my real bank info?? I have read here that they can get it from withdrawing FROM account. I have never once withdrawn from my bank to paypal so a little stressed as to what has just happened.... kind of an important account

Anything I should do here in preparation? Or just chill out and don't worry?

Thanks!

Hmm well for one i think you are going to get a NSF charge from the bank - has happened to me.

For me, when I make payments for sales and services, I make sure to select my CC for funds - otherwise default is the bank.

You sure it was from paypal? Any thing else in that e-mail?

Its paypal. I logged in and checked. I don't care about any fees. I screwed up and my PayPal balance got too low. Should have been 50 or 60 bucks in there but somewhere I messed up...

But my only concern is will paypal get my real info?

No they shouldnt - payment didnt get through from bank so there is no "receipt" whether real or virtual - other than the NSF charges, it's no big problem.

A solid account of mine got hit with 3 NSFs within a short period (my credit card was maxxed out ugh) and still lives to this day.

Sadly, that account is now limited pending a verification of delivery - sigh, I hate shipping to APo/FPO addresses even with tracking...06/30 shows arrival in international destination and nothing since =(

Ok, that's a bit of a relief. I've read on here that FROM bank TO PayPal will reveal details...

I will make sure not to cut it so close with a low balance....

It MAY reveal details - sadly, I have no knowledge of what paypal sees on their end. Nevertheless, that same account has used funds from bank transfer before - it is under a different name than the bank account - and this limited status did not require proof of ID.

/knock on wood now ha
