Paypal hold on funds question
 

Simple basic question that has been raised before, but kept getting sidetracked when searching previous posts.

Have 2 $50 payments in the "hold" period on sales through an ebay account that doesn't do much business and as a result doesn't have 20 feedbacks yet.

I checked on the Paypal site it said that the funds would be released within 3 days of confirmation of delivery. It's been 5 days for one and 3 for the other...both shipped USPS through PP
Any ideas on what gives?

I have the same question, confirmed delivery 5 days ago, payment's still held.
Could the weekend possibly be the reason for the extra 2 days?

According to Paypal there is a hold on payments for accounts with a feedback score of less than 100 or less than 20 positives in the last year, both of which are true of this account.

It also goes on to say that the payments will be released after 21 days if there is no case filed or 3 days after proof of delivery or upon positive feedback being left.

So best case, buyer gets the package and immediately leaves positive feedback, thus freeing up the funds
Next best case is that delivery is confirmed by post office and three days later funds are released.
And finally, package is sent without delivery confirmation and after buyer makes no complaint or leaves no feedback, the 21 days pass and funds are released.

I've been telling you guys for weeks, it used to be 3 days after DC and now it is more like 7 business days. Your experience may vary, but I have not had one clear in 3 days after confirmation in awhile.

Does that mean they are just lazy or have changed their policy?

Last time I looked they removed the part about releasing 3 days after confirmation. Now it is up to them. For me it has been taking 5-7 business days. I would call and bitch, but seeing it is stealth account don't need the heat.

This time I'm in no hurry for the money, less than $100.

yea, topseller is right. I've experienced it too. It's more like 5-7 days now. It used to be 3 days for the hold. I'm not sure why that is. Feedback is the 1 and only thing that slows me down on new accounts. I can't get buyers to leave me feedback for s%^*. It just slows down the process. eBay needs to inforce an automatic positive feedback after 5 days of no response from the buyer.
