possible option? paypal debit card-merchant...

what do you guys think of the following as a way to possibly avoid being limited by paypal...

get a paypal debit card. open up a merchant account such as moneybookers. load moneybookers account with paypal debit card. withdraw to bank account from moneybookers.

would this work? what are some other (better) merchant accounts to open up that this would work with.

thanks.

That could actually work. Not just with moneybookers but all merchant accounts...great idea.

Isn't it a pain to get paypal debit card?

First you need a non PO Box legit address.
Then you need to open a real bank account to give them the number.
Then when the card comes if it's like normal CC#'s, you gotta call from the same phone # associated with the paypal account.

Moneybookers limits you to about $60 for the first 90 days last time I used it.

thanks. what's a good merchant account that you'd recommend to open up/where would i do this...

well that's true, as far as actually getting the debit card you would obviously have to use a legit account.

however, has anyone noticed the new 'virtual credit card' option in the paypal withdraw menu....

Jonas 01-11-2008 08:59 PM

paypal really wants that social security number.

They want your bank account information and social security number.

Also, this is what paypal says about debit cards:

"You need to be a PayPal member for at least 60 days to apply."

But the virtual credit card thing sounds good...my account just got limited so maybe that's why I don't see it on my dropdown menu.

The easiest thing to me sounds like the CCNOW merchant account. This way even if you can't transfer your money over to your ccnow account via debit card, you can still do it with your paypal balance. Even though there is an initial 45 day wait period before you get your funds the first time you use it.

Hi:
I have had Paypal debit cards for several years now. I have transferred funds from Paypal to different entities, it doesnt matter, they will even stop the transfer if they want..
You get the atm/debit cards on a Business Acc in paypal- you can get up to 2 cards. When they arrive-go to paypal, enter the card number on line and choose a pin number..
