What will happen with this negative PayPal balance?
 

So someone sent me $400 via PayPal. I withdrew the money and about 1 week ago someone opened a PayPal dispute. They now have won the dispute and apparently the money is being returned to them. Whoever, I have a negative balance of $401 due to this. The good thing is I used a stealth name and removed the credit card on file so they couldn't charge it.
What will happen? Can they go back and get the credit card # and charge my card that was on file?
If I just leave the PayPal as is will I be safe?

No. you are not safe. Stealth or otherwise, paypal will attempt to recover the money.
No way is paypal going to write off that amount.
.....paypal have been known to go to BIG lengths to get their funds including touching supposedly closed ,deleted credit cards.

Just pay it off..

It is not worth canceling a good credit card for 400 dollars.

It will ding your credit score if you close a good standing credit card.

The open credit line gives your FICO points which is a good thing.

Pay them and move on.
