Selling on eBay- Buyer opened an item not as described on PayPal, she left feedback
Hi,
I sold a Cartier ring to en eBay buyer. I shipped the ring to a US address, the buyer lives in Singapore.
A few weeks later, buyer left a positive feedback, saying he loved the ring and he thanked me for a shipping discount, I gave him. I give all my first time buyers a shipping discount for their next purchase with me.
About two-three weeks later, he opens a dispute in PayPal, claiming I sent him a necklace instead of the Cartier ring. He claimed he had no time to open the package as he was preparing for an overseas business trip and only now came back and opened the package. He claimed he left positive feedback to be nice. This is what he stated in his PayPal dispute
Anyway I did explain to PayPal that he left feedback and that he must have been mistaken, to no avail. PayPal has asked him to return the item for a refund.
So what can I do? Most likely he used a US mail forwarder as I do not ship overseas. He could have opened the mail forwarder account with his real info or not.
Is there anyway for me to bring legal proceedings against this person or criminal charges against this person. Will the FBI help or relevant law enforcement help with this? If He used real info with his mail forwarder account, then he can be tracked from there and he would have had to use his real details, otherwise how is he going to receive the items he purchased.
So what are my options, can I sue him if I can't bring criminal charges since the only way to prove he lied is if he tries to sell the ring in his own country? |
