Can't freaking link PayPal and eBay...grrrr
 

I'm trying to link my eBay and PayPal accounts for a new account (required to sell internationally now) but whatever I do, it's just directing me to the PayPal homepage. I tried under "Addresses" > "Add a PayPal Address" and under "My Account" > "Link my PayPal Account". Both of them just redirect me to the PayPal default homepage where I can login, but am then shown my main account page, not the account linking page.

Does anyone have any ideas? I contacted eBay live help but they are absolutely no help. I tried it on 2 different accounts with the same result. Is there perhaps a problem with their account linking system right now? Or is there another way of linking the accounts? I already logged into PayPal and added my eBay account information for the logo insertion, etc. but that doesn't link it with eBay.

HI- Last time I got this error, was when I was trying to link a paypal acct that ebay already had... Basically they dont want it anymore, its a naru link

I don't think that's it ...they're both brand new accounts. I also tried it on another brand new account, the same error. Just checked the forums on eBay and there's like 3 or 4 other people having the same problem.

HI- If your determined to link, (which most folks dont want to do)- go into paypal- under auction tools--- you link there- you actually add an ebay user id..

by the way.... theres absolutly no use making effort to link your paypal account by any of the options you have been trying to do so.... if your paypal account is verified.. just put the email address of your paypal in your auction listings it will accept whereever u sell globally...

i have been selling on ebay germany and ebay usa with no problems .. and i have never physically linked my paypal and ebay addresses by anyway whatsoever... they r not tied for address.. (paypal addresses dont showup in ebay accounts), ebay is not linked by paypal... and lastly i am not using paypal ebay seller tools.... for ebay... this applies to my powerseller account.. my other accounts with 100+ feedback and accounts with under 50 feedbacks..

i beleive if you link those ways which ebay recommends can kill u and link up all of your ebay accounts togatehr.. i hope u got the message when one can do without that why take so much hassel and risk

I tried that, but it doesn't work. International sellers can't even get to the listing designer now without having a PayPal account linked. Only adding the email address no longer works. And the sad thing is, since the linking feature is broken (from about half a dozen people complaining on the forums), there is no way for new international sellers to currently list. Sucks huh? Lets see how long it takes them to fix it.

Paypal has problems with that. If you go to check a transaction and then click my account youll get a 404 error or something. But if you click overview you get to your regular page. Its stupid. There is most likely another link or one side or the other you can link them I dont do this but this is what I seen. Hell I even get open issues from ppl, but when I click it. Nothing is there...

Whether they require a bank account on file or not it's very easy to bypass this.

There used to be 2 ways to do it. One through the 'Your PayPal Account' link in eBay and the other through the 'Add PayPal Address' in eBay. Both of them are not working now and simply linking the eBay account through the PayPal interface (which works), doesn't link the account in eBay.
