Should I attempt to lift limits on account with strange name.

I have an account about to reach it's receiving limits, I have successfully lifted this limit on another account. I want to try it with this account but I'm not sure it would work due to a strange name.

The name is like this: Cagr Coper

Should I just forget about this Paypal account, create a new one with a realistic name, then use that with my ebay accounts linked to this strange name PP account?

lagoonclub 11-22-2010 01:01 PM

How is that a strange name?

nicetrypaypal 11-22-2010 01:55 PM

no dont forget about it. try and get the limitation lifted...

ive made some crazy names before for friends and 1 is still active with the weirdest of all names.. if you have the info they are looking for, you will be limit free..

Markk 11-22-2010 03:17 PM

ok, I'll see what I can do :-P

When I phone them I wonder how I should sound it out... "Cag-rrr", "Cag-Are" or "Cah-ger". What do you think sounds the most authentic?

Or I could say the R is the initial of my middle name... ?

lagoonclub 11-22-2010 03:19 PM

I think you're overthinking it. What can they possibly say to you? Your name sounds strange so we have to put a limit on your account?

Just say it however you want to say it and pronounce it for them. There's a good percentage of people who call with names nobody can pronounce.

Good luck =]

Markk 11-22-2010 03:34 PM

haha, ok you're right.

Markk 12-08-2010 02:41 PM

I finally got around to phoning them. It went like this:

Hi, confirm your name please
>>Cagr ....

Sorry, Carg?
>>No, Cagr ....

Ok, I just thought it might be a typing error
>>oh, no.

Then she finished restoring my account.

I just saw this thread... that's hilarious. I say it's pronounced Jason, and the R is silent.

holymoly 12-13-2010 04:57 PM

Also, I forgot to say but throughout the rest of the phonecall she called me "Carg" and not "Cagr".

holymoly 12-13-2010 05:08 PM

Hahhah, people just assume because they don't want to think outside what they know.

If someone told me their name was that. I would just call em craig hahahha

"Sorry, Cameron Cole?"
>No, Ca Co

"What!? I think you're lying you F**** B*****, upload some documents NOW, I want to see if you are for real!!"
>> Sure thing

"Thats some pretty clear and legible documentation, your account has been restored to normal, enjoy dropshipping from DHGate Cameron"
>> Thanks
Sometimes I get the idea that all this verification Paypal does is just for show so the government thinks they are regulating everything really well; thus stopping them from butting in. And to avoid legal problems etc.
