Getting a US "bank account" from overseas

is it possible to get a US bank account if you live overseas without a SSN# ? like those debit card thingies. This is only to withdraw to from a paypal account.

Try Etrade,they say in some countries you can open a trading /checking account with a foreign passport.

Are there not a handful of debit card companies that handle canada like Muchmusic, horizonplus, etc.?

lol i did go there, i know what etrade is, i just couldnt find a place to open a bank account with a passport, i found where you make chequing account, but there you need ssn.

call etrade tell them you want to open a forien account they will transfer you,to the right department,I did it.
