Confirm receipt

On a purchase I made with PayPal beside the transaction there is a button "Confirm receipt"

This is clearly for me to show PayPal I got the item

Now I am not too proud of the fact that I don't notice the obvious, but is this new for folks that are maybe having the 21 day hold on thier end? Or just another one of the 1000 things I glaze over every day?

If its for new people and holds its nice. It wont get used much by buyers I'm sure. But it cant hurt

This sounds new...have not seen it on my end yet though.

I wonder if you could coerce your customers into pressing that confirm receipt button and letting us know what happens?

pod 12-19-2010 11:14 PM

Actually its on the buyers end. Not seller.

I left him feedback, let me check on PP and see if its still there...

First Edition 12-19-2010 11:19 PM

of course... so what I mean is... maybe you could talk your buyer into pushing the button? This might be something to add to an email and a note included with the package if it gets the holds released.

Ya, its not there anymore. He had marked item shipped in paypal but didn't add the tracking. But didn't use PP shipping tool. So it must be another way for buyer to confirm receipt and when I left feedback it was removed. Must be added when item is marked shipped, but without tracking

No way to see it from the sellers end though.

I was thinking that too. Shame we cant see it on seller end. Who knows if its there and under what circumstances. The blind ass buyer who never leaves feedback will be the same blind ass buyer who doesn't do it in PayPal either...

I would be surprised if it gets used much, if ever

Its always been there but since only the buyer sees it most seller don't know about it, its for the 21 day hold so if you can convince your buyers by sending a pre-message every time that when they get it please confirm then you'll be getting your money quicker.

Well there's the answer to getting the 21 day hold released!

If buyers will use it. Its worth asking to be sure. But I somehow suspect most wont bother any more then feedback.

But its worth trying....

Any option is good - coercion with good communication can be effective...
