Why does Paypal ask for name of bank?

..it seems like every other site out there can just tell automatically, when you give them a routing number. :confused:

Is that for a bank account that pp can 'instantly recognize' or where pp are
going to make the deposits?

For anything.. I don't know what you mean by "instantly recognize", but yeah it's the one they use to put the deposits.

If you use an online banking account pp recognizes that and does not then do
deposits.

They have with me. Although they will still limit me every time I try to use ING lately. But the deposits still go through.

They don't accept certain banks like the ones with greendot. I don't know where there is a list but certain banks throw up a flag.

That's probably it. I think they're starting to blacklist ING as well. But I still don't know why they're too lazy to just check the routing #..

Try spelling it INGBANK. This should bypass their software but it's not guaranteed to work.
