Paypal & tracking numbers
 

Here is a question for the board. If i am selling overseas items. Is it a bad thing with paypal if I first ship a piece of paper to the buyer saying. "Thanks for your ebay purchase, you will be receiving your item within a few days." Then enter that tracking number into paypal? Instead of the one from overseas.

If you get caught they will shut you down

They used to release holds on tracking info but because scammers did just that instead of shipping item they have put the breaks on it

All it will take is one buyer seeing that the tracking is for the envelope, hasn't received package and hits the panic button. It can work, but not for long. Are you doing this to save on shipping costs? Problem I see is buyers get that tracking too. And they are not going to be happy its an envelope

I buy a LOT on ebay and I would be furious if I purchased something I was greatly anticipating and it tracked as an envelope. Example...I broke my cell phone the other day and bought a new one on ebay. The tracking number says it will be here tomorrow. I'm without a phone now. If I was tricked, I'd be mad.

I doubt I would immediately report it to ebay...as a seller I am sympathetic but I wouldn't risk doing this with all the idiot buyers out there.

Using an overseas dropshipper is dangerous. Buyers want their stuff YESTERDAY, not in 15 days. And lord help you if a buyer receives a customs seizure notice!
