PayPal Refund fee?

My friend just phoned me and told me he got charged $19 dollars for a refund he did.

He received over $500 yesterday and he did a refund due to a mistake the buyer made. When he did the refund he says he got charged $19 dollars.

Haven't done a refund in a while so i don't know if he is mistaken since he is new to ebay and paypal.

So is there a fee now for refunds?

I've never heard of this, maybe he made a mistake, charging for refunds is insane, that's basically free money for paypal, as if they don't make enough already!

Are you sure the "refund fees" wasn't paypal giving back the fees? They refund their commission when a refund is given. have him check again. I bet he's reading it wrong

Always be weary of what people "say" - proof is documentation ha. Anyhow - refund was to you?
