Talking to PayPal about the hold...
 

So I opened up a stealth account a little week ago. I sold 5 items totaling $500 USD. I did this to show my brother how to sell on eBay. And then PayPal placed the holds a coupe days ago.

The items I sold, sold all to the same person. I shipped the items out on Friday and they got to the Buyer on Saturday but the buyer wasn't at his office to receive them.

So the tracking showed "Notice Left" and will stay that way till the buyer picks up the item or leave feedback.

So I rang up PayPal and try to talk him/her into releasing the holds faster.

Me: I sold something on eBay and would like you to remove the holds please.

PayPal: OH! Looks like you just joined PayPal! Welcome to PayPal, blah blah blah. (explains 3 day hold after delivery + feedback)

Me: I don't want to keep "harassing" my buyer about leaving feedback before I get a negative for talking too much.

PayPal: HAHAHA! I talked to someone who that happened to HAHAHA!

Me: (thinking in my head: Not funny *****) So can you help me out?

PayPal: Nope, not yet anyway. I'm going to go ahead an place a note on your account saying, if USPS still shows "notice left" 3 days then the next agent will release the funds.

Me: (thinking to myself: holy ****ing **** I need my money now!!!!!) Thank you very much, I appreciate it.

PayPal: Thanks for using PayPal Mr.xxxxx

Me: Click.

Contacting PP is a BAD BAD IDEA.

Golden Rule: Never contact PP/eBay

I did this on an account I recovered because I had to wait 24 hours and wanted it sooner. Well they decided that I shouldn't have it at all and SUSPENDED ME FOREVER.

I always talk to PayPal.. even asking silly questions. I personally never had a problem talking to PayPal on the phone, usually nice people. I do try to bite my tongue.. I guess I can wait till tomorrow for the funds to be released.


Edit: I remember that happening to me along time ago...but I wasn't selling on eBay, I was buying gold from chinese gold farmers lol.. They limted me and gave me the "departed" message.. all I was doing was buying 5 million gold piece lol

I also talk to PP/ebay. I usually act mildly annoyed but as for their help. Usually they are quite helpful.

I talk to PP all the time. They have a great support staff actually. Keep in mind a "real" person is not going to sit on their ass when a $1000 is locked up for whatever reason, they call

I have never had anything bad happen when calling PP. But I sell legit products, so there may be a caveat there

Yeah sometimes you get lucky and get a support person who will cut you some slack and help you out.

I used to call PP ALL THE TIME! they used to put my funds on 21day holds. Soon as i saw the person receive the item. I called paypal and had them release like 5 of my funds every other day. I guess they got tired of doing it and then they stopped putting my funds on hold :)
