I totally agree. You need the guide. Take a weekend. Read and re-read it. Go through the forums with every possible question. Be organized and armed. Even though the temptation is go back to the bay quickly -- remember to go as slow as possible. It is worth it.
This forum has helped so many including myself and the guide is step one. Good luck.
