Need help with odd dispute situation

Hi all, thanks for looking at this thread. I've never seen this before and I honestly don't know what to do. Here is what's up. I bought some stuff from a seller about 45 days ago. I waited 3-4 weeks and when nothing showed up I opened an item not received case.

Everything was going as usual until a couple of days ago...Paypal requested me (the buyer) to submit some documentation backing up the claim. I don't understand what they want from me...I didn't receive anything and I don't know what they are expecting me to show them.

The seller did provide a tracking number (finally) and it shows delivered, but I swear I did not receive anything (I'm not one of those people, I'm a seller on eBay myself) but there was no signature confirmation on that tracking number and the value was over $300.

So if anybody has any clue what I should do, I would be very thankful :hail:

PS: THey say I need to provide it by tomorrow and if I don't do anything the case will close, so any and all quick answers are appreciated. Thanks!

Ok so he is probably trying to screw with you. Have you tried the tracking number yourself? Where does it show delivery? Zip code? Gather ALL your info and call up PP.

You can prob search it on Canada Post or USPS. I had this happen once - you have to do the legwork! Don't just sit and hope that PP protects you. Do it now!

I would go to the post office and request to see the " signature" if possible.
I wonder if this is at all possible, you could even maybe have them track it,
Look into this if you are out 300$ this seems weird.

Good luck

If he has tracking, you should be able to check all the info online.

I don't understand what PayPal COULD ask for in this case. You CANNOT prove a negative, it is impossible.

@jeffweico - the problem, as the OP has stated, is that:

The seller did provide a tracking number (finally) and it shows delivered.

So that needs to be cleared up if he wants to win his case.

Sounds like a bogus tracking number or someone in your zip code received the item by mistake.
Maybe your mailman/lady dropped it off at the wrong house, I'd ask them. Maybe a neighbor has it...

Well thanks for the help guys, I just uploaded a PDF and I wrote how dissapointed I am with the protection I'm getting, because they always advertise that you are super protected as a buyer. The next day they decided in my favor

Right now it is under review again because the seller appealed, but I have already been given the money. You guys think there is a chance that it will get reversed?

PS, Melissa that's what I figured too, because it shows my city but I can't find where it says the postal code. Either way, I don't know what happened and I read that signature confirmation is a must for all payments over $250, so I thought I had good chances.
