Can PayPal Limit my account for getting negative feedback on eBay?

I don't want to post too much information about my account, but the account is new, been up for about 30 days. So far I sold 26 cell phones ranging around 250 each.

most of that money is held up in the 21 hold rule in paypal.

1 seller has left me negative feed back after having 11 positive feedback.

He didn't wait for my reply, and is new on eBay. His first reaction to a problem was to leave me negative feedback. He says the cell phone shows an error. I am sure I can fix that. or I can exchange it for him. But the problem is I don't want Paypal to limit me for this.

I have quite a lot of money held up in Paypal and I can't afford to loose that money. I will resolve any problem with any customer. Can this affect me?

I am not rich yet. :pry:

Doubt they will do anything for just one negative feedback, but try to resolve the problem as quickly as possible and get him to remove the feedback. But yeah paypal can do whatever they want, and can limit you for getting to many complaints on ebay etc

That's a lot of cash to come flying out of the gate with on a new account. But, more power to you if you have been able to avoid any problems so far. Definitely get some smaller, cheaper items selling and beef up that feedback. A bad DSR reputation could destroy you real fast with such low feedback and selling risky, high priced items like that. Do some research on some fairly cheap items that you can pick up around town that sell well. Sell them alongside the phone business and build up some solid seller feedback.

If it comes to a crunch (& paypal sure does crunch accounts) they might look unfavorably at even one negative.

Be proactive in getting in touch with the buyer & attempting to get the -ve removed. That might not be so easy if the buyer has a low number of FB.

Now: at the same time. go back over your listings. Check that you are letting buyers know you have a return policy, that you are eager to resolve problems. Also make sure that your other buyers are throwing their FB in glowing postive terms :pop2:

Good Luck
