Inquiry by Paypal - wtf?
 

I just sold an item on ebay (iPhone 3G) 2 days ago (June 2), received payment, and shipped the item the next day, June 3 (to Paypal verified address).

Suddenly, today, I get a notice that there is a Inquiry By Paypal? I am not even sure the buyer made a claim? He hasn't even received the item yet.

I am not sure why this is. I have had my ebay/paypal account for years, with no issue. I have sold items before with no issue.

I am thinking I am going to call FedEx to cancel the shipment (I was told by a friend that they can do this) so that the buyer doesn't get the item for free ?

What is this? I have never seen this before, Inquiry by Paypal? is this initiated by the buyer? I find it unlikely as I would think the buyer would wait to receive the item first. If it was initiated by Paypal, is it random? not sure why I would even be flagged.

It wouldn't just say 'Inquiry by paypal'. What else does it say?

Status: Being Reviewed By PayPal

Status was changed after I submitted tracking information. I have already called FedEx to cancel shipment so i can get the item back. Not taking any chances.

Outside of that, I don't see anything else that it would say as to why I have an inquiry

Submit the tracking number and call up PP if in doubt.

sometimes they will issue an inquirey if they feel the buyer, or seller is not who they say they are, when they believe the account(s) may have been hijacked. Submit all the info they need, and when the investigation is over, your account will be back to normal. Hopefully Good luck.

If the items sold have not been iphones, paypal will do that.

Iphones is scammer territory.

Ideally, you would have called paypal to find out what gives.... would not that have been better? You could have come on here with this scenario.

Sold an Iphone to a buyer. The account was hijacked but I've shipped out the item. Help what can I do.
